Jobboard Finder’s opinion
Summary: Created in 2009, Absolventen is an Austrian specialist job board focused on graduates. There is also a version of the website with the country code TLD .cc, which is usually used for the Cocos Islands belonging to Australia. The visibility is unknown to SimilarWeb, but the social following shows that it attracts candidates and recruiters alike: 15 494 followers on Facebook, 155 on Instagram and 262 on Twitter.
Design: The homepage is a magazine. By clicking on “call for talents jobs”, you can accept the job listing. If you scroll down the homepage, you will see new jobs on the right-hand side and a preview of the “call for talent jobs” section at the bottom. A lot of information is available for jobseekers (the articles) and recruiters (the guides). Once in the job listing, the job offers appear in large rectangles. The publication dates are clearly indicated, so are the titles and a brief summary of the job. Even if the logos are small in the listing, an opened job offer has decent branding, which can include videos and very clear sections. The filters are the different degrees, keywords, the location and the type of job (you tick boxes).
The job board objective: Absolventen (which means “graduates”) has one simple goal: put recruiters and graduates in contact with each other.
Recruiter observations: You can write a detailed review of your company, which the website can send out to targeted candidates. Other recruitment options are explained on the website. Unfortunately, there is no CV database.
Jobseeker observations: Jobseekers can apply by simply using the contact information in the job offer. The “apply now” button doesn’t work well.
The job offers: Some of the jobs are months old, but it definitely appears to be updated and the publication dates seem truthful. There are 24 job offers on the site.
Reactivity: The team answers very quickly and they are helpful.
Special features: The partner page; photos of the team; the articles; the followers on social media displaced on the homepage; the calendar (of upcoming events and university open days with many things scheduled over the year); the career guide (which you can order online); interesting marketing options; the statistics on their users (in media data); the list of partners and associates.
Verdict: It would be nice to have the abbreviations explained for foreign users and it could be helpful to have more filters. That said, the website is easy to use and definitely provides a lot of useful information for both recruiters and jobseekers.
