Jobboard Finder’s opinion
Summary: Stellenanzeigen is one of the leading generalist job boards in Germany and it has been around for over 20 years. Today, the site attracts 1.83 million visitors a month, which is double what it was 2 years ago. It’s recently supported the development of a new job board for the Rhein-Neckar Zeitung (online newspaper) and it promotes job offers on its social media (1 996 followers on Instagram, 141 300 on Facebook, 1 314 on Twitter and 225 on LinkedIn). There is also a Xing page. One of the founding employees is Stefan Kölle, featured in the somewhat unusual photo in the “About Us” section.
Design: The search engine (keywords and location) appears at eye-level on the homepage and it includes advanced search options (publication date, type of hours, sector, radius, the subcategory and the level). The rest of the homepage has a particularly clear design, including colours and icons. All the featured companies really are hiring and you can a number of different services. In the listing, job offers are displayed next to an open one, which usually has customised branding to promote the company image. The pages are bordering on too busy, but everything remains clear. The company pages are very attractive. They can include a large banner image, key figures, multimedia, the benefits, photos of the team, the jobs, the news, a map and photos of the city. Some of these features also appear in the job offers directly.
The job board objective: Stellenanzeigen (which means “job advertisement”) has a team of experts in job advertising.
Recruiter observations: To post online, you can order a job offer through the site. The following information is required: the address, the postcode, a phone number, the company name and the industry.
Jobseeker observations: Jobseekers are directed to a different page to apply to job offers. You can also receive job offers on WhatsApp.
The job offers: There are over 1 000 job offers on the site. There are only 228 internships.
Reactivity: You can write to the team on Facebook
Special features: The blog (in several sections); the icons; the awards; the career guide; rating the website; the statistics on the site users; the newsroom; the webinars (there aren’t any at the moment); the net/gross calculator; how to write a CV; job alerts.
Verdict: Stellenanzeigen is a user-friendly and popular job board in Germany. If you’re recruiting in the country, you can trust the job advertisement experts to come up with a customised branding strategy.
